SSL Certificates
How we ensure every portfolio on MyFolioHub is secure and trusted.
In the modern web, security is not optional. Every portfolio hosted on MyFolioHub is automatically protected by a high-grade SSL Certificate. This ensures that your site is served over https://, creating a secure connection between your visitors and your content.
Why SSL Matters
An SSL certificate does more than just show a padlock icon in the browser:
- Data Integrity: It prevents "Man-in-the-Middle" attacks, ensuring that your content isn't tampered with while it's being delivered to your visitors.
- Trust and Credibility: Visitors (and recruiters) are more likely to trust a site that is secure. Many browsers now show a "Not Secure" warning for sites without SSL.
- SEO Benefits: Google and other search engines prioritize secure sites in their ranking algorithms. Having SSL is a fundamental requirement for modern SEO.
Automatic Provisioning
You don't have to worry about purchasing, installing, or renewing certificates. As soon as you create a portfolio or connect a custom domain, our system automatically provisions a certificate from Let's Encrypt. The process is entirely hands-off and takes only a few minutes.
Custom Domain Support
When you connect a custom domain (e.g., www.yourname.com), we generate a specific certificate for that domain. We handle the complex "ACME" challenge process behind the scenes, ensuring your custom domain is just as secure as our default subdomains.
Automatic Renewals
SSL certificates typically expire every 90 days. MyFolioHub's infrastructure automatically monitors your certificates and renews them 30 days before they expire, ensuring your site never goes down due to an expired certificate.
HSTS and Secure Headers
Beyond basic SSL, we implement HSTS (HTTP Strict Transport Security). This tells browsers to only ever communicate with your site over HTTPS, even if a visitor tries to access it via an unencrypted http:// link. We also include other security headers like X-Content-Type-Options and X-Frame-Options to further harden your site.
